Types of Breast Cancer
Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS)
It is a non-invasive type of breast cancer. In this condition, the affected cells are confined to ducts in the breast. They have not invaded the surrounding tissue of the breast.
Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC)
A common type of breast cancer, IDC starts in the milk ducts of the breast and then affects the nearby tissues. Once the cancer cells have gone beyond the milk ducts, it can affect the nearby tissues and organs.
Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC)
ILC the second most common type of breast cancer usually occurs in older adults. It starts in the lobules of the breast and spreads to the nearby tissue. In some people it can spread into other parts of the body.
